Your international Household Effects policy is an All-Peril policy that includes coverage such as theft, vandalism, fire, and damage whilst inside your home abroad. If you add Transit insurance to your policy, it will provide global damage coverage for your belongings during a move to your new country, while traveling, and when moving back home.

Transit insurance for personal property is an optional benefit that can be purchased in addition. Transit benefit will cover all risks of physical loss or damage to your items which are covered under our personal property policy whilst your items are being professionally packed or unpacked, in transit whilst in custody with you, or any registered commercial or governmental shipper, contracted by you or your agent. This coverage applies to transit either by land or sea.

Transit coverage is an optional cover you can choose to ensure your personal belongings are covered. If you select Transit insurance at the time of purchasing your Personal Property insurance, your policy declaration’s page will reflect this additional cover and your items will be covered during your move.

Transit coverage can be added midterm to your policy with an additional cost. It is important to note that Transit coverage must be added prior to the actual transit occurring and the premium is fully earned.

Your policy may be cancelled at any time. However, we do require a written notice. Premiums are pro-rated at the time of cancellation subject to minimum premiums earned (US$ 50.00). However, Transit cover is fully earned, and is not subject to pro-rata return.
